I’m slowly getting back in the work mood after NYE, what about you? Have you made any resolutions for the new year? In the past days, I’ve been reading the book of Grace Coddington, Memoirs, which is really nice if you want to know more about creating magazines, fashion and Anna Wintour ;-). But, I’m not going to write about that book today (maybe when I’m done reading) because I wanted to show you some cool photography inspired by the twenties. I just love the fashion and the design of the twenties.
So, I was very happy when I discovered a very cool website some days ago, From me to You (or Annstreetstudios). It’s the website of a photography duo, Jamie Beck and Kevin Burg. They create the perfect photos; beautiful, stylish and with some nice atmosphere in the shots. Their editorial based on the book of F. Scott Fitzgerald, The Great Gatbsy (published in 1925) is great. It really shows you twenties fashion in a modern way. And because I love to compare the new twenties with the real deal, I’ve searched for some old photos from Edward Steichen, one of the great photographers of Vogue and Vanity Fair. Man, you’ve got to love the sense of detail in these old (and new!) clothes, not?
Enjoy the rest of your day my best readers!
